A fun yet intensive week-long creative problem-solving workshop at a local ceramic studio in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. We will also be touring artist’s studios, meeting with gallery staff and touring ceramics in the provincial collections, The Remai Art Gallery and possibly a day trip down to visit the Mackenzie Art Gallery and artist studios in Regina. Basically I’ll make a full menu of fun clay related things for the cohort to choose between and we will plan the focus for the week together to meet everyone’s needs. 

Studio ADA accessibility unknown in each situation but I will address any issues prior to participants arriving.

Workshop Agenda: In person workshop: dates to be determined. Ideally summer months (because mountains in winter equals snow)

One-week workshop in my studio in Fernie BC, Canada. Focus will be on hand building form, design, and function. (No wheels here, lots of tables.) We’ll focus on your favorite (or most maddening!) form. Expect a mix of experimentation, group/individual feedback, and good studio vibes all round.

A fun yet intensive week-long workshop at a local ceramic studio in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We will decide as a group beforehand what would be most helpful for me to demonstrate or what kind of activities I can lead in the studio during that week. We'll also be touring local artists’ studios, local museums/galleries, exploring Nova Scotia and eating lobsters ( I will find you a vegetable shaped as a lobster if needed)! A fun, week-long creative problem-solving and glaze testing workshop at my studio in Meadowview, Virginia.

Workshop Agenda: Dates TBD. Likely early summer because it is such a wonderful time to be in Montana.

Content TBD based on goals of our cohort. We’ll cover as many steps of the ceramic process as possible. Firing options include high-temperature reduction firing in my gas kilns as well as electric kiln firings.

I can also demonstrate surface carving techniques on porcelain forms, and Korean Onggi coil and paddle methods. We’ll also have time for group discussions. The goal is to create an engaging environment for discovery, growth, and fresh ideas.

Workshop Agenda: The workshop agenda will be determined by the needs and wants from the cohort. Some possibilities are firing together at my home in Nahata' Dziil, Arizona, a group show, or site visits for clay and material gathering. 

Individual Meetings: 2nd and 3rd Tuesday (exceptions: April 7 and 14, July 7 and 14)

Group Meetings: Every 2nd Sunday (exceptions: May 17, June 28)

Workshop Agenda: Date TBD with input from the cohort group.

Workshop content will be determined by the needs and interests of the group. Field trips to the Northern Clay Center, Minneapolis Institute of Art, Weisman Art Museum, and/or Walker Art Center will be scheduled during the workshop. 

The workshop will take place in Wisconsin near the Chippewa Valley Region, which is approximately a 1 1/2 hour drive from Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota. Exact location will be determined once we establish our content and goals. Final location may include stairs and/or walking on a slight incline.

Individual meetings to be decided in agreement with the student, group meetings from Friday to Sunday. In-Person Workshop Dates TBD (January/August).

Workshop agenda: A week in Fazzo, Italy with technical and artistic experiments of various kinds and adaptable to the interests of the group.

Workshop Agenda: A week in my studio at Golden Bridge Pottery in Pondicherry, India. Based on the needs of the Cohort, we can have a making workshop and fire one of the wood kilns at the pottery.
