CODE OF CONDUCT

Cohorts.Art is an educational mentorship program established for artists to learn and build community in a welcoming, inclusive, and nurturing environment.

Cohorts.art is relational learning. As such, trust and safe learning space are paramount to the success of the participants.  We are committed to equity, access, and quality artistic growth for all.  Feedback and adaptability are core to small batch learning, and we are dependent on opinions and communicated experiences of our students and mentors.

Expectations

  • All participants--students, mentors, management--are expected to treat each other with respect regardless of age, race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation,  religious beliefs, disability status.

  • Bullying, belittling, and sexual harassment will not be tolerated.

  • Communication must always be respectful and considerate towards all involved.

  • Confidentiality must be maintained at all times, and personal information shared should never be disclosed to others without explicit permission.

  • Mentors and mentees must act with integrity and in accordance with the program's objectives.

  • Any grievances or concerns must be reported promptly to the program coordinators, who will address the issue in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Conflict Resolution

  • Should a problem arise, mediation steps will be taken, and if necessary, removal made from Cohorts.Art. This applies not only to students, but mentors and management alike.

  • Please immediately contact Cohorts.Art director, Simon Levin, and/or manager,
Ann Marie Cooper, for assistance if you encounter a problem with a member of our community.

We are pleased to partner with The Color Network, an additional resource or point of contact for any artists of color in need of assistance.
