Aarti Manik
Aarti Manik is a studio potter and educator at Golden Bridge Pottery studio, established by Deborah Smith & Ray Meeker in 1971 in Pondicherry, India.
Starting out as a professional photographer, she turned towards clay in 2012 and then in 2014 joined the 7 month course at Golden Bridge Pottery.
In 2016, she spent 6 months as an apprentice to Penny Simpson, a slipware potter in Devon,(UK). During her time there, she also had the opportunity to assist Svend Bayer with firing his anagama kiln and assisted Clive Bowen with his slipware workshop at Kigbeare Studios.
Her work has been part of several national and international shows, including Table Manners Show at Gallery Art & Soul, Beyond the Brickyard at Archie Bray, Montana in 2019 and most recently as part of the Multicultural Award show at The Black History Museum, Richmond (Virginia).
