PROGRAM INFORMATION

The length and breadth of this program allows for iterations. The quiet work between discussion is so vital to progress. This class is for the intrinsically motivated student who has access to studio space but is hungry for feedback and mentoring.

APPLYING FOR CLAY COHORTS

We will announce our 2025 mentors and open the application for the next session in August of 2024.

The application includes several questions to help us get to know you and your goals, and asks for 5 photos of your work.

The selection process is an earnest effort to build the best Cohort while placing you with a mentor who best pairs with your gifts and goals.

Course Summary and Features

Beginning in January, students will meet individually with their mentor twice a month for one hour, and once a month for two hours with their entire cohort (and sometimes with other cohorts!)—all via Zoom.

In addition, later in the year, students will gather in-person for a weeklong hands-on workshop.

AND, to celebrate completion of the year-long program and moving onward, all students and mentors will participate in an exhibition at
Good Earth Pottery.

Other Program Perks:

  • Every student will get a week to guest host the Cohorts.Art Instagram account with guidance from Ann Marie.

  • Cohorts will publish a link to your website from ours.

  • Cohorts will promote you on social media.

  • Access to the Cohorts.Art Lecture Series Library

  • Access to the Studio Potter Magazine Archives

…and more to come!

Tuition Cost: $320/month for 12 months, payable through recurring automatic payments.

Cohorts.Art is committed to offering equitable art education opportunities. We have established a fund to create tuition scholarships for BIPOC students. We will be awarding two full-tuition scholarships to BIPOC students in 2024.
Donations are welcome.

Student is responsible for travel and lodging costs for the in-person workshop.

Mentors will not be housing students. Shared VRBO rentals have worked well for past Cohorts.

COVID protocol: all mentors will require COVID vaccinations be up-to-date and a negative test prior to attending the in-person workshop. Mask requirements will be determined by CDC recommendations at the time.
