Baton Rouge, LA. USA. Barbara Minor is an internationally recognized enamel jewelry artist, her workshops, lectures and demonstrations include a variety of subjects related to jewelry and enameling on metal, metal forming, and design/pattern development using enamel color. Barbara teaches frequently at well-known crafts schools, universities, and regional guilds. Her work is exhibited widely across the U.S. and abroad and has been pictured in 500 EnameledObjects, The Art of Enameling, and Art Jewelry Today.
Barbara has been making and selling her enameled jewelry at national juried craft shows and galleries for 30+ years. She is well recognized for her innovative enameled beads and her distinctive jewelry. Her expressive brooches and enamel beads are have been widely collected for over 25 years.
Individual Meetings: To be decided upon in agreement with each individual participant during the second and fourth weeks of each month.
Group Meeting: Group meeting dates to be decided upon in agreement with the group and held on the second Saturday or Sunday of each month - 10:00am-12:00pm CT // 11:00am-1:00pm ET // 5:00pm-7:00pm Italy Time
Workshop Agenda: We'll spend a week in my personal studio, exploring enameling techniques, creative problem-solving and bringing ideas to life through technical enameling demonstrations, experiments and critical feedback. We'll also discuss other relevant topics and answer all those "what if I tried this?" questions. Specific content will be determined based on discussion of the group needs.
My studio is one level on the ground floor. Participants may need to navigate tight spaces around certain equipment.

About Barbara
Barbara grew up outside of Chicago. She earned a BFA degree in Jewelry/Metalsmithing from the University of Illinois. Her love for enameling began during her graduate studies at Indiana State University and continued through ten years of college teaching at SUNY Geneseo. After leaving academia, Barbara dedicated her professional life, as a full-time studio artist, to creating and marketing her enameled jewelry for galleries and juried craft shows. Her studio practice now concentrates on researching and innovating enamel processes, preparing to teach workshops, and creating unique enameled jewelry and objects that showcase her advanced and well-developed enameling and metalworking skills.
